From the cover – ‘Mia’s Bayeux Tapestry Musings – Material, Colour & Equipment is part 1 in a series about the Bayeux Tapestry replica project I’m working on. In this book, we will be looking at all the material I used for this project, from fabric and wool to scissors and needle. I will also tell you about what inspired me to start my embroidery mission.
I invite you to follow me on my Bayeux Tapestry journey, from the first trip to Material Heaven when I went to find the perfect linen the very recent times when there was a measuring tape drama.
We will be visiting a Swedish open air museum for a natural dye experience and spend plenty of time debating which colour to use for the embroidery.
You can expect a lot of humour and my personality shining through and I promise to share both difficulties and achivements, to give you a comprehensive view of my replica project.’
